Late Diagnosis Group

Sunbeams is aware that a high number of adults are receiving diagnosis and along with children and young people we would like to offer support. With this in mind we started a group dedicated to supporting adults with a late diagnosis of autism.

Sunbeams recognises how hard it is to accept a diagnosis after years of misunderstanding and possibly being wrongly diagnosed with various mental health conditions. We are also aware how extremely limited resources for over 25's are and have been working hard to raise funds to enable this service to be offered.

The group provides opportunities for socialising, sharing experiences, time with our psychotherapist, training and workshops. Outings will also be a key service exploring new places and experiences with support and guidance.

We understanding that many of you maybe curious about the group or who want to join but will find it challenging to reach out. Sunbeams would like to reassure you that the group is being lead by people with lived experience including their own diagnosis. The groups are non-judgemental, supportive and fun!

Weekly sessions are held at the centre on Gapton Hall Rd on Wednesdays (term-time) alternating between mornings 9.30-11.30am and evenings 6-8pm.

If you are an adult who has had a late diagnosis, are going through the process of being diagnosed or are over 25 years old and would like to know more about the group or getting a diagnosis please contact us on 01493 442181 and we will be happy to help.
