Global Make Some Noise
In March 2020 we were delighted to be chosen as one of Global's Make Some Noise charities being awarded a grant of over £65,000 to support our services.
Global Charities run a broadcast appeal across Global’s radio stations,
raising awareness and funds for selected small charities. Their Grants Panel were
originally impressed by our application with strong
outcomes and it was recognised that our charity was delivering an important service as
the only organisation in the area dedicated to autism support for a wide range
of ages.
The following quote is taken from their letter of support provided at the close of their funding:-
'The Sunbeams Play team are immensely dedicated to their work, and it is very apparent how much they care for and champion the beneficiaries they support. The small office team and delivery staff provide information, advice, practical and emotional support that is much needed by the families, as well as providing fun leisure activities and respite. Through the campaign, our colleagues heard directly from several young people supported by Sunbeams, and it was evident how valued they feel by the charity. We’ve seen and heard how the charity’s facilitation of events and activities is hugely important to the children, young people and parents they support, allowing them to meet others in similar situations and gain knowledge and understanding. The staff and beneficiaries at Sunbeams Play were willing and enthusiastic to take part in the Make Some Noise campaign and to share their stories on air, raising vital awareness of autism.'
