Sensory Garden
Following our move to Keyword House we developed a beautiful safe space to play and relax, removing tons of concrete 6" deep with the help of Huggle Farm proprietors who lent us their equipment and staff. After covering the ground with a deep layer of topsoil we were delighted to welcome a team of volunteers from the Phoenix group who laid 225 square meters of turf.
Funding was provided by Aviva and Handelsbanken with plants and flowers from SW Plants . There's still more to do but along with the hub the garden will grow, change and adapt to the needs of those attending.
Sensory gardens offer a safe and engaging space to explore and interact with the environment through all of the senses stimulating sight, taste, touch, sounds and smells, promoting and encouraging relaxation, interaction and socialising.
