Hatchlings

As part of our British Science Association grant and Science Week project our children and young people looked at different eggs, compared colours and sizes and matched them to photos of different birds.

We also hired an incubator and hatched 5 eggs watching the delightful ducklings breakout into the big world. To keep them safe the ducklings had to come home with us over the weekend enabling us to do our regular deep clean at the centre.

While at the centre the ducklings enjoyed a bath and being held by children in all the groups. We had hoped to keep them longer but they grew so fast and needed more space. All of them have new welcoming homes and have settled into their new homes, two have joined lots of new friends at Huggle farm with the others going to a private home. We will miss them but we receive regular updates and know they are all happy and thriving.
